  • Solid feature set, including GPS and stereo Bluetooth. Reasonably priced. Nice, updated design. Tethered modem support.
  • No standout feature. Screen seems average, even at high resolution. Networking experience very sluggish.
  • Sanyo makes solid phones, in terms of making and receiving calls, and the Katana DLX wont disappoint fans looking for a solid, affordable phone with good features and some 3G amenities. However, none of the more advanced features stand out. The QVGA...

  • Extrait:  The Sanyo Katana might not have all the latest bells and whistles, such as a 1.3-megapixel camera, an external storage card, or a music player, but it does a great job with the features it does support. More importantly, its what a cell phone should b...

  • Extrait:  With ultra-thin phones, wireless carriers have learned that good design sells. Virtually every manufacturer produce thin models and carriers want more because they sell. The Sprint Sanyo Katana is a potentially popular phone: it’s simple, elegant an...

  • Extrait:  Sanyos new phone, the Katana, is named after the beautifully and brilliantly crafted swords used by Japans legendary Samurai warriors. While comparing the design and workmanship of this phone to that of a Japanese master swordsmith might be a bit of ...

  • Extrait:  Sanyo Katana: Sprints latest answer to the RAZR craze is slim, light and good looking. Though made of plastic rather than metal, the Katana is a nice looking phone thats available in four colors, three from Sprint and a fourth color exclusive to Radi...

  • Thin, light, QVGA display, Bluetooth
  • Limited talk time, lacks originality, poor photo quality
  • Our review Katana was running v1.000SP firmwareI really like the Sanyo Katana. The device is reasonably good looking, and it is both thin and light. If you are a Sprint customer, this is the closest thing to a Motorola RAZR V3 that you are likely to ev...

  • Extrait:  Ultra-thin devices are still selling strong. In a market where Motorola RAZRs pack store shelves, Sprint has offered customers relatively few choices for slim handhelds. Fortunately this month, Sprint added a new device to its thin portfolio. Named aft...

  • The Sanyo 6600 Katana has a slim silhouette and offers a VGA camera, Bluetooth, a speakerphone, text messaging, voice dialing, a voice recorder, and a wireless Web browser. It has a large external screen.
  • The Sanyo 6600 Katanas feature set is rather underwhelming and doesnt have 3G support like many of its slim counterparts. It also suffers from flat keys that are slippery and difficult to dial by feel.
  • The Sanyo 6600 Katana pales in comparison to the Motorola Razr and the Samsung MM-A900 in terms of design and features. But on its own, its a pretty good midtier phone.

  • Most RAZR-like design for Sprint. High-res screen. Good gaming performance.
  • Harsh voice quality at high volumes.
  • Its all about design. The Katana is the closest youll get to a RAZR on Sprints network, and its going for a reasonable price (after rebate)....

  • Extrait:  The Sanyo Katana is a great rival to all of the other razor-thin phones that are now available on the mobile phone market, and are so adored by consumers, because of their compact style and capability of providing the user with so many different func...
