  • As UMPCs go, the Viliv S5 Premium delivers on many of its promises, although the disappointing 3G performance will deter some people and the software keyboard makes it a poor choice for anyone who frequently wrangles Office documents. For this price, ...

  • Today is the day millions have been waiting for- the day the iPad is released. Some of us however don’t quite buy into a $500 device that can’t even do simple things like play back Xvid video files, support Flash and Java, use standard USB accessorie...

  • Good performance for the size, Long battery life, Relatively fast boot time, Optional 3G and GPS
  • Expensive, No slot for included stylus, Hard to read display outdoors, No memory card slot
  • Excellent endurance, a good touch interface, GPS, and optional mobile broadband makes this a compelling but pricey mobile Internet device.

  • Fits nicely into a large pocket. Featherweight PC. Good battery life.
  • Processor not running full speed. Wireless throughput is slow. Choked during 720p HD playback. Haptic keyboard needs predictive text. Resolution too high for text on a 4.8-inch screen. Too expensive for stripped down netbook. Lacks a physical keyboard.
  • The Viliv S5 Premium is a pocket-sized MID with a touch-only interface and a full blown operating system, but the price is real deal-breaker here....

  • Very long battery life; crams Netbook features into a compact, portable size.
  • Tiny 4.8-inch screen is almost impossible to read; difficult-to-use virtual keyboard; high price.
  • Too large to be a smart device, too small to be a useful Netbook, the import-only Viliv S5 is a neat proof-of-concept that is best for portable media playing.

  • Mobile computing is about personal choice. We all have different wants and needs, so no single device can satisfy us all; a dealbreaker for one person could have no affect on a purchasing decision for another. The Viliv S5 Premium has so much going for...

  • Extrait:  With smartphones getting smarter all the time, and with netbooks too easily gaining a strong market presence, the once expected explosion of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) powered by Intel Atom chips have failed to materialize. It's not hard to see why...
