Two excellent IPS displays, Impressively thin despite extra screen, Solid ultrabook design and performance
Expensive, Interior screen lacks touch, Gorilla Glass on lid adds weight, Disappointing battery life
Asus adds yet another variation to the hybrid laptop/tablet by sticking a touch screen on the outside of the lid as well as a conventional screen in the usual spot. It's an interesting idea, but expensive, and you'll definitely miss touch input on th...

Dual-display combines laptop and tablet functionality. Gorilla Glass on lid is stylish looking. Quality construction. Intel Core i7 and 256GB solid-state drive.
Dual-display seems needlessly redundant and doesn't always work smoothly. Trackpad required driver update to be usable. Short battery life. No touch on interior screen
The Asus Taichi 21 offers a unique dual-display design, but the end result is a good ultrabook combined with a middling tablet, at a fairly high price....

The Asus Taichi 21 offers a clever implementation of a dual-screen design in a slim Core i7 chassis.
Only one of the screens is touch-enabled, which feels like a major oversight. There are probably only a handful of situations where you'd need an outward-facing display.
More of a clever proof-of-concept than a practical product, the Asus Taichi still delivers on its basic promise, combining two displays for a unique take on the laptop/tablet/hybrid genre.
Innovative design and concept, Light for a laptop even with two displays, Full HD resolution on both displays, Outer display is touch and stylus-enabled
Short battery life, Heavy for a tablet, Uncomfortably high temperatures on the bottom, Few ports, No apps to take advantage of dual-screen design, Performance goes down in Dual-Screen Mode
Oh Asus, you tried so hard to impress us with the Taichi 21 – and it worked … at first. The idea behind this hybrid is cool and different, and we want to like it. We wish the battery life was a little longer, the bottom was less toasty, and the Taichi h...

After the June announcement's shock and awe wore off, the Asus Taichi seemed flashy rather than brilliant. After all, few of us really have use for two displays and those displays add weight and reduce durability (the lid is a piece of glass). Sure, i...
Extrait: Two Windows 8 convertible tablet -Ultrabooks priced within $100 of each other. Both offer Intel core i5 and Core i7 ULV CPU options with Intel HD 4000 graphics and a fast 128 or 256 gig SSD. They both have 1080p 11.6
Low weight, slim casing, High-end aluminum looks, Adapter VGA/RJ45 included, Compelling input devices, Matte FHD screen, Bright FHD screen, High contrast, Backlit keyboard (3 levels), Extreme application performance due to very swift SSD
Few interfaces, Limited extendibility, Inner screen dims on battery power, Short battery life, Long recharge times, CPU throttling at simultaneous GPU load
The Taichi could be revolutionary - it can in fact revolutionize using a Windows PC. Of course, the user has to be open for this and the high-end convertible makes that easy. But first things first. The Taichi 21 is almost on a par with the ZenBook categor...
