  • Nice USB flash drive option
  • Software is a bit frustrating
  • The Hitachi LifeStudio Desk Plus is perfect for someone looking for a funky looking external HDD to sit on their desk and do all the things a HDD should do. Just don't expect the whole package to make much of an impact on you...

  • Looks good; worked smoothly; comes with decent organisation and backup software; can synchronise with memory key,
  • Online features of software not much use,
  • A good hard disk that comes with some handy software ...

  • It might sound innovative, but the LifeStudio's USB flash drive can't make up for the lack of a USB3 interface at this price ...

  • Pleasing design; flash drive and cloud syncing provide full backup solution; bundled software is simple and effective
  • Not Time Machine ready out of the box; Cooliris browser feels contrived; can get loud; annoying flashing front light
  • The drive can get loud when transferring large files and the accompanying flashing light is horrible. But you do get a lot for your money

  • The Hitachi LifeStudio Desk Plus is a unique external hard drive in both form and function. Its attractive interface and user-friendly software make up for the sluggish transfer speeds. If you require a place to store your digital library, look no fur...

  • Build Quality, Finish, Design, Bundled Software / Frequent Updates, 4GB USB Flash Drive, 3 Years Warranty, Almost Silent
  • Price (For Some), USB 2.0 Only
  • Although the LifeStudio Desk Plus is a very fast external USB 2.0 drive and easily tops that specification i still can't understand why Hitachi didn't see fit to at least add eSATA and/or FireWire connectivity to offer a faster way to move file...

  • Neat hard drive dock; cool flashdrive magnetic interface.
  • Clumsy bundled software; MyKey doesn't sync correctly.

  • Bundled USB flash drive. LifeStudio software does a good job sorting media
  • Ordinary read/write performance. Expensive for a USB 2.0 drive
  • Slick included software and an expensive novelty USB flash drive aren't enough to make the DeskLife Studio plus a must-buy storage option....

  • LifeStudio software is attractive and easy to use, simple backup software with 3GB of free cloud storage, comes bundled with 4GB USB thumb drive
  • Bulky design, file transfer speeds could be faster, lacks a power button
  • The Hitachi LifeStudio Desk Plus is a unique external hard drive in both form and function. Its attractive interface and user-friendly software make up for the sluggish transfer speeds. If you require a place to store your digital library, look no further...
