Extrait: One of my favorite events of the year is the one where Olympus invites me to New York to document the U.S. Open tennis tournament with one of their brand new Micro Four Thirds PEN cameras. This year, I happened to be snapping away in the press dugouts wit...
Low image noise, Conservative metering, Fast contrastdetect AF, Short shutterlag, Almost instant video recording, Generally quick and responsive, Effective builtin stabilization, Excellent automatic Manual Focus Assist, High level of customization, Excell
Poor color accuracy, Below average AWB, Useless ISO 12800, Low contrast LCD, Poor video framing preview accuracy, Histogram disappears during EC, Not always ExposurePriority, Uncomfortable strap eyelets, Low battery life
This new sensor delivers high-quality images and performance. Image noise is low and metering rarely overexposes. There are some issues with color- and white-balance accuracy though. The Olympus PEN E-PM1 is much faster than its predecessor, particularly ...
The E-PM1 shares all its best traits with the E-PL3: lots of custom options, a capable sensor, fast AF and in-camera raw conversion wrapped inside a small, stylish body. In terms of image quality and core photographic functionality, the two cameras ar...
Clear image quality, Good high ISO performance, WYSIWYG LCD screen
Flash not built in, Video capture is "wobbly"
The Olympus PEN E-PM1 Mini dishes out image quality that's on par with the high-end PEN E-P3, but for a more reasonable price. We were impressed with its clear and vibrant results, as well as its useful high ISO settings. However, its video quality isn't...

The image quality from all Olympus Pen cameras is excellent and the Mini is no exception. The Super Control panels works so well that it makes the lack of control buttons less irksome. Auto focus is fast and accurate.
The menu system has been criticised for is complexity. No one will come across the activation of the Super Control Panel by accident. The full user manual is essential, and pointandshooters won't read it, which is a pity
The Pen Mini competes with the Panasonic GF3 as the micro four thirds camera for the upwardly mobile, at least in image quality terms. Both are fine cameras and choosing between them may come down to aesthetics and price. The Pen Mini is definitely pretti...
Extrait: Read later This is the smallest and least expensive of the Olympus Pen micro four thirds cameras. It has the same 12.3-megapixel sensor and 14mm-42mm kit lens as the E-PL3 and E-P3 but is aimed at customers wanting better quality than a compact but...
Small and cute design. Fast autofocus. Easy-to-use menu system. Attractive price compared to other cameras in its class
No hand grip. Screen difficult to see in sunlight. Average video quality
Geared towards point-and-shoot upgrade users, the Olympus Pen Mini E-PM1 offers a great introduction to the world of interchangeable lens cameras. There are a few usability issues that we'd like to see resolved for the next version, though....
Because it provides most of the features of its more expensive siblings (the E-P3 and E-PL3), the E-PM1 represents excellent value for money. At $599 for the single-lens kit, it's $200 cheaper than the E-PL3 and $400 less than the E-P3.It's also $400 less...
