  • If you’re stepping up from a standard compact camera you’ll feel quite at home with the PEN mini, and love its enhanced image quality, but DSLR users may well find it somewhat frustrating to use. ...

  • Slim and compact design, Full HD video recording, Simple control layout will suit beginners, 16:9 LCD is great for recording video, Art filters
  • Reflective LCD screen, 16:9 LCD aspect ratio wastes a lot of space when taking stills, No finger grip
  • This camera will suit those looking for a high quality compact system camera that is simple to operate, but will be less suited to experienced photographers who may require more customisation and direct control...

  • Compact, stylish and wellmade, Simple interface for beginners with fewer confusing controls, Good picture quality up to 1600 ISO, Screen is nice to use, Full HD video with decent stereo sound
  • Smooth, slippery surfaces and no grip handle, Interface can be annoying (e.g. pressing a button to activate ASM modes), Menus are still too long, particularly with all the custom options, Video mode with no custom settings, no wideangle and an image that's sometimes distorted, No builtin flash (external flash supplied)
  • The Olympus Pen E-PM1 is a decent little camera. We don't think it's been quite as successfully simplified as Panasonic's GF3 (we would have almost preferred no ASM modes at all!) and grip could definitely be improved. However, with the camera held in ...

  • Extrait:  You're ready for a camera upgrade. You've outgrown the best point-and-shoot cameras, but a DSLR is a little excessive. Luckily for you, there's a middle ground. Mirrorless, interchangeable lens cameras—even affordable ones—are getting really, really good....

  • Extrait:  The current Olympus PEN camera assortment is made up of three system cameras, the Olympus PEN Mini (E-PM1) being the most compact. The 12 megapixel Olympus PEN Mini has a stylish appearance, however, its weight is especially noteworthy, as the ...

  • Like most compact interchangeable lens cameras, the Olympus E-PM1 records good, but not fantastic, HD video. If you're purchasing the camera that you're primarily planning to use to record video, the E-PM1 is not the model for you. But, if you are sim...

  • Built-in stabilisation works with any lens, 1080i60 movie mode with PASM, Standard hotshoe with an accessory port, Fast start-up and quick AF response.
  • Lacks a touch or tilting screen, Movie stabilisation artifacts, Incorrect control labels when customised, Single-use accessory port.
  • The Olympus PEN Mini E-PM1 fills a gap in the PEN range that until now really only catered for enthusiast photographers. Rather belatedly, Olympus has woken up to the fact that equipping it's Micro Four Thirds bodies with auto exposure modes isn't eno...
