  • The HTC Hero is superb and the best iPhone competitor we've reviewed so far. Our only disappointment is that HTC didn't use a faster processor. If you’re not bothered by the slight lag though then we couldn't recommend this phone enough.Like this phone...

  • Extrait:  There are a few little niggles about this handset, such as the jutting lip and the fiddliness of taking pictures with the trackball. But the drawbacks are far outweighed by the multimedia and business centric benefits on offer, not to mention the possi...

  • Extrait:  Androids may dream of electric sheep, but HTC dreams of producing a touch-powered phone that can really give the iPhone something to worry about. With the Hero it pretty much manages to turn that dream into a reality. We know you've probably looked at t...

  • Extrait:  I feel dirty in a way, and Ill tell you why. This is and always has been a Windows Mobile site. To be given a HTC Hero to play with for a couple of weeks? No.. we dont want it. Why? Because its powered by Google Android - a new competitor for Window...

  • Great user interface – very customisable, Home screen widgets show live info, WiFi, GPS, HSDPA, Responsive touchscreen
  • Some issues with Flash video support, Some people may be overwhelmed by customisation options
  • The best Android phone yet, though not without its little annoyances...

  • Epic customisability; well-designed home screen widgets with live updates; easy-to-use keyboard; convenient Android Market for apps; multitouch capability; Flash support; 3.5mm headphone jack; Facebook integration
  • Sluggish at times; Flash video is dodgy; no easy way to back up and restore; button and menu overkill
  • If you can stand the Hero's occasional sluggishness, it's a fantastic smart phone packed with great features. We like its distinctive looks, and the innovative user interface brings Android much closer to being as fun and good-looking as the iPhone OS...

  • Excellent Sense UI, Compact design, Responsive screen, Facebook and Twitter integration
  • Poor camera, Laggy OS, Lack of video codec support, Slow internet browsing
  • At last the phone weve been waiting for has finally arrived. The HTC Hero has emerged blinking into the light, complete with the new Sense UI, to unleash a smackdown on the iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre. Android upgraded, this is the most powerful Googl...

  • HTC Sense UI, Ease-of-use, Stonking touchscreen
  • Below par camera, Slight lag, Video performance
  • The Hero is a fantastic step-up from both the HTC G1 and Magic. With the new Sense UI and Android strapped to its back its a true contender for the do-it-all phone top spot.

  • It's only been a few months since the HTC Magic, but the leap forward HTC's made in the meantime is phenomenal. That's down to the new Sense overlay on top of Android. HTC's stuffed in loads more widgets to pop on your home screen - of whi...
  • As slick as the Hero looks, HTC could still fine tune the hardware a bit more. The camera lacks a flash, the trackball feels cheap, and that lip on the bottom juts out even more than Leslie Ash's face pillows. While it feels fine in the hand, it's...
  • With the HTC Hero, Android has finally come of age. It's almost the complete smartphone package now, helped no end by HTC's software rejigging and solid and sexy design stuffed with up to date hardware. iPhone, if you're listening, it's ti...
