  • My experience with the Synology 1900ac has been great. Setup was simple, interacting with the device reasonably intuitive and performance has been outstanding — a strong, stable signal and greatly increased range over my old device. The extras that allow...

  • As is probably clear, I am a fan of Synology products and have been very happy with my NAS. As such, I had fairly high hopes and expectations of the RT1900ac router. I'm pleased to say that my expectations have mostly been met. There are a few niggles, bu...

  • Advanced yet easy to use software, Well-built parental controls and intrusion prevention, Serves well as a NAS and VPN Server, Good wireless broadcast signal
  • Average wireless transfer performance, One USB 3.0 port, SD card reader could have been another USB 3.0 port,
  • With the RT1900ac, Synology has proved itself not to be another company that makes networking products, the company has certainly leveraged on its expertise in its NAS software to change the way we look at routers, the RT1900ac is the most advanced home a...

  • Excellent admin UI, VPN server & VPN client support, Reasonably priced
  • Average wireless speed/coverage, No VLAN Tagging yet (TBA January 2016)
  • Both the wireless speed and coverage of this router is average. But given the price, I think it is still acceptable. The current lack of VLAN tagging is pretty disappointing but I am glad VLAN tagging support will be coming via a software update next month...

  • – Unmatched featureset, – Highly extensible, – Granular control, – Refined UI, – Remote access functionality
  • – Moderate 5GHz range, – Availability
  • Having used the ASUS RT-AC87 extensively, I had zero issues moving to Synology's router, and did not witness any degradation in throughput, at least in the 2.4GHz channel. The 5GHz channel, however, is limited in range. One minor issue with the design of...
