  • Extrait:  Video Review: PC gaming means taking video games to the extreme, which means Maingear's Shift Extreme may be the perfect fit. Kevin Pereira and Alison Haislip review this gaming PC with its redesigned case, Intel Hexa-core processor, NVIDIA GTX 480 vid...

  • The large amount of memory and nice graphics card were nice additions,
  • The lack of a few support features on Maingears site could be improved.
  • If you want a product made by gamers and want to save a little money this may be a good choice for you....

  • Innovative, Unique Design, Could Make Steve Jobs Jealous, Near-silent operation (relative to competitors), Excellent Performance, Asetek 550LC Cooler
  • Overclocked Temperatures, Easier On The Eyes Than The Wallet, Was Not Delivered By Complimentary Sherpa
  • We really like the SHIFT. MainGear deserves top honors for taking the risk of building a non-standard chassis and for delivering real benefits as opposed to slick marketing drivel. The case is fully compatible with all standard PC peripherals with just a...

  • TriSLI Fermi and 4GHz Gulftown equals pure joy.
  • Loud in gaming; puts out enough heat to cook bacon.

  • Speedy on benchmark tests. Intelligent packaging. Intelligent thermal design. Easy-to-upgrade hard drive bays. Uncluttered exposed surfaces. Quiet during normal operations.
  • No eSATA ports. Must open lid with screwdriver to get to ports. Doesn't top every single benchmark test. Graphics cards get loud during 3D gaming.
  • The Maingear Shift both promises and delivers a more mature gaming experience. That's not to say it's solely for Mature-audience games, rather it's the hardcore gamer's PC for when he's older (and wealthier). Way too wordy. Just give t...

  • Jaw-dropping performance, Beautiful interior and exterior
  • Limited PCI upgradability due to tri-CrossFire rig, Pricey
  • You might not find a faster (or flashier) system than Maingear’s Shift, but that doesn’t mean this beautiful monster is perfectly priced for its performance. ...

  • Hasslefree upgrades, Clever case design. Eyeballrupturing speed on games. Doubles as a media center powerhouse.
  • Confusing orientation makes cable clutter a bigger eyesore than usual. No matter how you slice it, seven thousand smackers is a lot for a PC.

  • Record-shattering performance; uncompromising design, build
  • Stratospheric pricing in our test configuration; large; heavy
  • It topped $7,000 in our test configuration, but this over-the-top hyper-PC is a true tech showpiece—and its superior custom case is available even in its $2,199 base model. ...
