The overall value rating on the previous page is really only important if you're looking for a multifunction performance-oriented PC. Lenovo is marketing its Erazer X700 as a more gamer-oriented box, though. When we get that specific, its high-end six-cor...
The Lenovo Erazer X700 is a fairly good entry-level gaming desktop in its own right, and it boasts liquid cooling, simple overclocking, and plenty of opportunities for tweaking the system....

Powerful configurations, Overclocking switch and liquid cooling, Massive hard drive space
Lenovo is untested in this market, Not so neat cables, Extreme case design
We're intrigued to see Lenovo enter the gaming space with a dedicated rig. Competition from a reputable manufacturer never hurts the consumer. With the launch of one system, this isn't exactly Dell's acquisition of Alienware, but it's an exciting start.Th...

Good hardware combination that will serve the mainstream user/gamer well. User upgrade to GTX 660 SLI would give plenty of performance headroom. Sleek case and bundled peripherals. Good value on basic models.
Missing a highend GPU option to compete in the major leagues. Factory upgrades don't make sense for the price. Stop software bloat, please.
The Software ExperienceOur review unit arrived with Windows 8. Windows 8.1 had not been officially released before the system was shipped, but it is safe to assume Lenovo will now be bundling 8.1. Unlike its competition in the gaming market (e.g. Falcon N...

Built-in liquid cooling and OneKey Overclocking. Hot swappable drive bays. Lots of room for expandability. Better than average bundled keyboard and mouse. Combination of solid-state drive and hard drive offers zippy performance and lots of space.
Design is a bit garish. Third-generation processor and middle-of-the-road GPU offer good, but not great, performance
The Lenovo Erazer X700 is a fairly good entry-level gaming desktop in its own right, but unlike competing systems, it also boasts liquid cooling, simple overclocking, and plenty of opportunities to dip a toe into the murky waters of upgrading and tweakin...
Boutique appearance at an OEM price, Upgradeable, Fair performance for the money, Comes with a gaming grade keyboard and mouse, Runs quiet, Built-in Wi-Fi
Older generation foundation, Needs another stick of RAM to run in quad-channel mode, Sloppy cable management, Can't customize before purchase
Lenovo first showed off its IdeaCentre Erazer X700 at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas earlier this year, and for whatever reason, it's taken the OEM eight months to start selling these machines. Given that it was shown off at the beginnin...
Good mid-range gaming performance, Menacing case design, Reasonably priced, Ample 1TB hard drive plus SSD
Older-generation chipset and processor, No Blu-ray drive, Cramped interior, Bloatware
With the Lenovo Erazer X700 gaming desktop, you get solid productivity performance and very playable 1080p frame rates in an edgy, liquid-cooled chassis. It doesn't use the latest CPU architecture, though, and the interior is a bit of a mess. ...
Easy and reliable, if limited, overclocking, Excellent expandability, Two prewired hot swap drive bays, Mostly free of bloatware, Very good gaming performance
OEM video card and no SLI bridge limits video upgrade path, Messy wiring visible through side panel, No recovery media, No useraccesible BIOS
Selling pre-built systems to gamers is always tricky: they're a picky bunch of people who generally already have a pretty good idea of what they want. The Lenovo Erazer X700 Gaming System provides enough performance to play most games at high settings at ...
