  • Not currently available as add-on for GoFlex Desk, Does not recognize GoFlex Desk as external drive, Personal files not secured, Can't share specific folders to only specific users
  • For the average home user, the Seagate GoFlex Home 1TB network storage system will be a nice addition to their network. It won't replace a more powerful server or NAS, but it is substantially cheaper and easier to manage. In addition, the GoFlex Home ...

  • The GoFlex Home Network Storage System is a good performing, simple NAS server that is compatible with Seagate's GoFlex Desk external hard drives. It supports Macs and PCs and works as a print server
  • The GoFlex Home doesn't support GoFlex Desk drives larger than 2TB. Its desktop software is rather useless and its Web interface is not easy enough for beginners. You must have an Internet connection to register the NAS with Seagate as part of its setup
  • The GoFlex Home Network Storage System is a simple storage server and a great accessory for a Seagate GoFlex Desk hard drive. However, if you want a NAS with a lot of features, you should keep looking.

  • If you're looking for a plug-and-play NAS drive, the 2TB GoFlex certainly has its appeal.  Unlike the 3TB USB drive that Anand reviewed last month though, Seagate aren't the only players in the segment as there are other 2TB network drive options out ther...
