While the NES Classic Mini seems to have sparked a new wave of nostalgic gaming, with Atari the latest to leap on board the retro-console bandwagon, the set-top box-style Ataribox misses the point somewhat, much like the wilfully expandable Ouya and the A...
21 great games from yesteryear, excellent video presentation, cute little box, two controllers included
Controller cables are too short again, reset button only on the box so you have to get up to change game
Nintendo surprised us all with the NES Classic Mini and the SNES lacks some of that "wow" factor, but it is still the better machine. It has better games on offer and is likely to be more fondly remembered by a greater number of gamers. We're disappointed...

Fantastic selection of games, wonderful presentation, authentic and robust pads - two of them, Final Fantasy VI, Yoshi's Island, Starfox 2 - for the first time ever

Certain games are territory specific, SNES controller ports are a facade

Two controllers in box, Controller leads are lengthy, Great selection of classics
Still no AC adapter for UK model, Still have to press Reset button on console to switch games
Our early impressions suggest the SNES Classic Mini is every bit as lovingly designed as its predecessor, while removing its single biggest frustration – the horrendously short controller cables. With two gamepads in the box, the SNES Mini is much more fe...

Certain games are territory specific, SNES controller ports are a facade
Despite a few holes in the software library, the Nintendo SNES Classic Mini offers an enjoyable, accessible and - crucially - affordable way to play some of the most groundbreaking and enjoyable games ever made...
