  • Good improvements on original Gear, including style, speed, camera and much better battery life
  • Not many apps available yet, needs a dock to charge, accelerator doesn't always activate screen when you move
  • It's getting there. The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 improves on its predecessor in almost every significant way -- it's slimmer and lighter, the camera's better and it's faster too. The screen's the same, but it's more than good enough for this size and thoug...

  • The original Galaxy Gear smartwatch was by no means a looker, as it was rather bulky and unsightly - thankfully, Samsung has streamlined its successor, and it's a much slicker item of wrist wear that actually looks like a proper watch. Gone from the strap is the watch's camera - instead, it's been integrated into the top of the watch's upper edge, meaning you can swap in different watch straps -
  • Unfortunately, while Samsung has steadily improved the overall smartwatch package, it still falls short on both being a watch, and frankly, being smart. While its battery life has been improved, it still only lasts around three days, meaning you'll have to charge it up at least twice a week - not ideal when you want to rely on your timepiece for, well, the time. The switch to Tizen has meant that
  • With the Gear 2, Samsung has improved on its original Gear smartwatch, refining the design and switching over the OS to improve its battery - but it still feels unconvincing, unnecessary and flawed. There's a few aspects to like, such as it automatical...

  • The Samsung Gear 2 is without a doubt a big improvement on the original Galaxy Gear. While still somewhat bulky, it's much sleeker than the previous model, it has a more impressive set of features and, if Samsung's claims are to be believed, its battery w...

  • Extrait:  Samsung seems to have gone back to the drawing board with the second iteration. We managed to get a substantial amount of hands on time with the device at Mobile World Congress and what follows are our initial impressions. You may have noticed with all the...

  • Extrait:  The Galaxy in the original Galaxy Gear smartwatch name is gone, as Samsung's Gear 2 ditches Android for Tizen OS. This means a new fast, simple and now - with a heart rate sensor - more comprehensive menu than before. But is it enough to let this smartwat...

  • Improved, premium design, Simple, intuative interface, Comfortable
  • Expensive, Unnecessary features with poor applications, Pointless camera, So-so battery life
  • Samsung has made numerous improvements, but the Gear 2 remains an unconvincing smartwatch, doubly so considering Android Wear watches are due later this year....

  • The main problem we had with the original Galaxy Gear is that we never felt like we needed it, the new Gear 2 has changed that. It works as a watch, it works as a fitness tracker, it looks good and it comes with extras that other smart watches don't.It's...

  • Cool design, Swappable bands, Longer battery
  • Still chunky, Likely expensive
  • The new Samsung Gear 2 is the watch that we were all expecting to happen at MWC, but it came with a few surprises along the way. The biggest one is the fact it's running Tizen; or, as Samsung tells us, a Tizen-based OS for smartwatches. The distinction is...

  • Longer battery life, Heart rate monitor and IR Blaster
  • Expensive
  • Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 the evolutionary development to the Galaxy Gear is actually what Galaxy Gear should have been. Galaxy Gear was more like an unfinished product which was rushed just for the sake of launching it first. Though Samsung jump...

  • I really like the Gear 2. It is stylish and comfortable and it's a watch I would wear just as a watch even if it didn't have so many other tricks hidden inside. At $300 it pushes the range of what I consider reasonable for a device like this, but the S...
