  • Stylish. Excellent sound. Universal power adapter. Can use batteries.
  • Short remote range. No indicators for controls. Uncomfortable handle.
  • Even with the iM7s shortcomings, the sound it produces is just too good to pass up.

  • Extrait:  Lets face it, there are a lot of iPod portable stereo speaker systems to choose from. But some have stood the test of time, and the Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 has held its place near the top of our highly recommended list for more than a year. If you...

  • Extrait:  The phrase, "built to a price" is generally used to damn a product. But it isnt necessarily a bad thing. Marketing execs identify a sweet spot where price and features turn into effortless sales, then direct their engineers and designers to make it so...

  • Extrait:  Overall, the Shoulder Harness is the way to go if you want to be able to move the iM7 around while it\'s playing, whereas the Shoulder Pack is better for protecting the iM7 during transport. Both are on the pricey side -- carrying cases for other systems in this price/size range, such as Tivoli\'s iSongBook, are only $30 -- but if you\'ve got an iM7, I recommend one of them for much easier carrying (and varying degrees of protection...

  • Good sound at the low end. Remote locks into the unit for storage Vvideo output Clean design matches the iPod’s looks.
  • No bass kick. Heavy with batteries installed. Midrange sound is questionable.
  • One of the most popular iPod accessories is the now-ubiquitous speaker system. An early entry was the Altec Lansing inMotion iM3, a small, tinny sounding device that traveled well because it folded flat, ran on batteries, and charged your iPod, all the...

  • Extrait:  ReviewA 80s style boombox for your iPod? well not quite but the latest iPod speaker system from Altec Lansing does have more than a passing resemblance to some 1980s ghetto blasters. Luckily it sounds a lot better.

  • Extrait:  Since its release last year, Bose’s SoundDock (iLounge rating: B+) has proved astonishingly popular, winning a rare place in the display windows of certain Apple Stores. The reason: despite its $299 price tag, SoundDock’s use of a single enclo...

  • Extrait:  The tube-shaped Altec Lansing inMotion iM7 is a combination Apple iPod dock and portable speaker system. The iM7 adds a little oomph to the companys inMotion line, providing room-filling sound in a stylish white and gray casing.
