We need to test sound quality but we're otherwise very impressed with the Google Home Mini. Initial impressions are that it's a much more stylish rival to the Echo Dot and comes at the same price. There's little to dislike here.Tags:Smart Home, Gadgets, A...

Affordable price point, Stylish design, Touch controls
Speaker lacks bass
The Google Home Mini is a serious contender to the Amazon Echo Dot, and Google may just have the retail giant's small-size smart speaker beat when it comes to audio quality...
Affordable Google Assistant, Chromecast compatibility, Fine sound for speech radio,
Sound quality is average for music, No aux or Bluetooth output, Device support could be better,
While it's not quite the perfect experience, it's hard to complain too much about what the Home Mini does. It is primarily a good voice assistant, with the ability to control other devices. More compatible devices and improvements to the AI will only impr...

Fluffy, friendly design, Sounds better than an Echo Dot, Just as knowledgeable as bigger Home, Strong smart home support, Recognises the voices of up to six people and gives personalised replies, Good value
Doesn't have a 3.5mm line-out or have Bluetooth out, Touch buttons on the top have been disabled, Still favours Google services over others, Echo still more versatile for music and shopping
Unless you've already filled your house with Echo Dots, the Home Mini is shaping up to be a great entrée to home voice control. It's nicer looking than the Echo Dot, costs the same and works better with Google services like Gmail, Maps and Calendar, part...
