  • In almost all cases, if you have regular need for a serious zoom lens, then yes. Unless you have a niche concern like image stabilization for video, or need a longer focal range, the Sigma is a great replacement for your current walk-around zoom. The pric...

  • Although it is unlikely a user would buy several full-frame wide-angle lenses specifically for an APS-C format camera, the fact remains that the Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 DC HSM is an outstanding performer optically. If we want to be picky, the Sigma lacks image...

  • The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM lens currently occupies a unique spot as a wide-aperture zoom lens built specifically for APS-C mounts. It has a great build quality and delivers excellent photo quality
  • Lacks optical stabilization
  • As long as it stays at a sub-$1,000 price, the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM lens will be a great deal for photographers using APS-C dSLRs.

  • On paper the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM effectively replaces fast 28mm, 35mm and 50mm equivalent optics in your camera bag, saving space and money whilst offering the convenience of a zoom lens. In reality, this new lens more than lives up to its promise...

  • Sharp. Wide aperture. Reasonable price tag. Available for several camera systems.
  • Big. No optical stabilization. Some wide-angle barrel distortion. Modest zoom ratio
  • The Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM delivers on its promise; it boasts the speed and sharpness of a prime lens, along with the convenience of a zoom....

  • The optical and mechanical quality of this lens is absolutely stunning. The small distortion at both ends of the zoom range is easily corrected and won't even be noticed in general use. Sharpness, contrast and colour are superb.
  • There is nothing to dislike. We might grumble about the weight, but then look what we are getting
  • If we were shopping for a consumer DSLR with an APS sensor (most DSLRs fit this description) we would consider buying body only and specifying this lens for the kit. You won't be able to brag about the 30X zoom and ignorant bystanders will sniff, but you...
